Xata Feature Requests

Currently, xata branch create in the CLI tool by default sets the active branch as the parent, and you can specify a different parent using the --parent-branch parameter. I would rather always pick the parent branch interactively from a list.

It would be really useful to have an ohmyzsh plugin render whenever I am in a Xata context, telling me the name of the Xata branch I am pointing. A similar thing exists for git branches.

My team does not use the app or postgres name in our databases. In the Xata UI, the connection string always defaults to app . It would be great to either not have those other DB names created by default, or to be able to specify a default name in a base branch that is then propagated to any child branches. That'd make copying connection strings and sharing them around easier.

My team cuts branches from our production clone to test features. Since there isn't branch resetting, we end up having to cut new branches and point our local DBs to new host names every time we want the latest copy of the data. It would instead be nice to just be able to reset branches to production, maintaining the same connection string.

As we are based in Europe, we would like to run our database closer to our other backend infrastructure.
